BIM files are huge. Your LAN is fast. Use it.

A working Revit model runs hundreds of megabytes to several gigabytes; a project folder with sheets, renders and consultant drops crosses 50 GB fast. Pushing that through Dropbox or OneDrive means hours of upload on office broadband — and many clients contractually forbid their plans living on third-party servers anyway. So teams fall back to USB sticks and \\PCNAME paths that break after every Windows update.

How your office runs with Oxolan

Every workstation visible

Install Oxolan on each machine; they discover each other in ~300 ms and stay in the sidebar — no mapped drives, no network discovery to babysit.

Send the model, not the link

Drag the current model to a colleague at 60–115 MB/s on gigabit. A 2 GB Revit file lands in ~20 seconds; a 50 GB project archive in ~8 minutes.

Locks prevent overwrite pain

When someone opens a shared file, it locks — the classic "two people saved over each other's sheet set" incident stops happening.

Client files never leave the office

Transfers are TLS 1.3-encrypted machine-to-machine. Nothing uploads to any cloud, which is exactly what confidentiality clauses want to hear.

Your files, at wire speed

Times assume ~110 MB/s sustained on wired gigabit — Oxolan's verified range is 60–115 MB/s depending on network and disks. Try your own numbers:

Time = size ÷ sustained speed. Cloud adds the receiver's download on top. Oxolan moves files directly over the LAN — the top row is the one your office cable already paid for.

Frequently asked questions

Can Oxolan handle multi-gigabyte BIM files?

Yes — transfers are chunked with per-chunk BLAKE3 integrity checks, run at 60–115 MB/s on gigabit, and resume after a drop or reboot instead of restarting. 50 GB+ archives are a normal workload.

Does it work Revit-alongside — no workflow change?

Oxolan moves and locks files; your applications don't change. Teams keep their folder conventions and simply stop routing files through cloud sync or USB drives.

Our client contracts forbid cloud storage. Does this qualify?

Files transfer directly between your machines over your own network, encrypted with TLS 1.3 — no third-party server ever holds them. That is the compliance story most confidentiality clauses are asking for.

What about the consultant who works remotely?

Oxolan is LAN-only by design — remote exchange stays on whatever secure channel you already use. Inside the office, everything moves at LAN speed.
